Germany’s Lloyd Werft (Bremerhaven) is continuing to operate normally under insolvency rules, with the full support of all the creditors. The yard is expected to come out of insolvency when the NCL cruise vessel Pride of America is delivered during June next year (2005).
This year (2004) the largest repair projects have involved three cruise vessels, Cunard’s QE2, P&O’s Oriana and Costa’s Costa Victoria. There has also been a series of containership from US boxship owner Lykes Lines. Apart from NCL cruise vessel Pride of America, Lloyd Werft is currently working an a long term refit programme for the German Navy Frigate Bremen, which will be completed in January next year (2005), the 12,950 dwt containership Huskey Runner, which is owned by Germany’s Magellan Chartering Services, Hamburg, and the 20,100 dwt containership Novia, which is owned by Germany’s Herman Dauelsberg GmbH, Bremen. Also due is the German Polar research vessel Polar Stern, which will arrive during October for a week stay at the yard…
