The ShipPax Award for Outstanding Ferry Conversion
The Lloyd Werft has been awarded the ShipPax Award for their Outstanding Ferry Conversion of the "Stena Hollandica" in 2007.
The official statement from ShipPax Information, the organization giving the annual award, says:
"For the bold initiative of adding the largest-ever mid-body section to a ro-pax ship, creating significant additional lanemetre capacity, and realising a substantial upgrade of passenger accommodations and facilities throughout the ship."
The main criteria for the decision-making was, that award-winning design has to bring significant added value to the product and the manner of its working in a way that the form that follows the function is also aesthetically pleasing and ergonomic.
